Breaking the Silos: Data Fusion for Financial Crime and Cyber Security

Traditional silos between cybersecurity, payments and fraud detection often hide the "connective tissue" of modern threats. By adopting a Databricks-based SIEM 2.0 and an Instrumentation Data Lake, NAB has enabled "Data Fusion"—the ability to instantly correlate a spike in payment latency with specific security threat vectors. This talk outlines the "hub-and-spoke" governance model used to map common entities across 50+ distinct sources, enabling a unified security posture that enhances the firm’s safety without stifling innovation.
