From Excel to Real Time Insights using Databricks, ThoughtSpot and PBI

How can you go from static reporting in Excel with yesterday’s data to an architecture where we can present advanced analytics in real-time. We will focus on how we built our platform with Databricks Delta Live Tables and streaming data, the value we get from Databricks vs. a traditional RDBMS stack, and how end-users interact with data using ThoughtSpot and Power BI. Our goal was to enable Europris – Norway's #1 discount variety retailer to use a “self-service concept” for reports and analytics.

The session will have tips and tricks on how-to ingest, process, and structure data for optimal usage and visualisation. With our stack, 280 store managers, a previously underserved group from a data perspective, and 80 analysts interact with data monthly.
