Estée Lauder and EPAM modernized legacy value chain planning systems using a Databricks-based platform tailored for Enterprise Business Planning Data Products. This platform eliminated SaaS licensing costs, centralized supply chain planning, and unified data and business logic in-house. It also accelerated the creation of user-friendly interfaces and enabled seamless data exchange via Unity Catalog. Now integrated into Estée Lauder’s Data Mesh ecosystem, the Databricks workspace supports marketing, supply and demand planning, inventory management, and risk evaluations. By scaling AI pilots—such as a social media trends intelligence app—the platform unlocked AI-driven insights and advanced capabilities. Looking ahead, it’s driving innovation with Agentic AI and large language models (LLMs), enabling complex business process orchestration and real-time decision-making.
