Jean-Georges Perrin, famously known as “JGP,” is a Senior Product Manager at Actian. He leads critical initiatives in Data Products and Data Contracts, driving the company’s mission to build the industry’s most intelligent data platform. With 25+ years of expertise in data architecture and engineering, JGP focuses on designing systems that balance strict governance with usability and innovation. He believes data should work for people,not the other way around.
Previously, JGP was Principal Architect at Expedia, where he defined the strategic direction for global data architecture. He currently chairs the Linux Foundation’s Bitol project, leading global efforts to standardize data through the Open Data Contract Standard (ODCS).
He is an acclaimed author who wrote Implementing Data Mesh and Spark in Action. His industry impact has earned him titles like Lifetime IBM Champion and Data Mesh MVP. JGP remains a premier voice in modern data, bridging the gap between technology and strategy.
