Beyond the Dashboard: Designing Premium, AI-Powered Operations Apps on Databricks

Connected systems generate massive operational telemetry, yet most teams still consume it through generic dashboards that can bury insight behind filters and grids. Turning raw signal into decisive action across hundreds of assets is as much a product and design challenge as a data one.

This session shows how to deliver branded, business-facing operations experiences on Databricks using Apps, Lakebase, Model Serving and Genie as a single substrate for data, AI and product.

We follow an operations lead through a custom app built around an aircraft fleet: a top-level overview, deeper insight views with recommended actions and an AI chat that answers natural-language questions on the same governed tables.

The talk focuses on patterns you can reuse: shaping noisy telemetry into decision-ready gold tables, designing apps that feel like products rather than dashboards and orchestrating multiple AI agents.
