Three years ago, easyJet's data estate was primarily focused on centralizing data from multiple operational systems, with most workloads running in batch and limited real-time capability. This session describes the strategic evolution of easyJet's Data Strategy by adopting Databricks as a single enterprise foundation for data and AI across the organization. It will cover the transition from basic data consolidation to supporting streaming and near-real-time processing, enabling teams to work from a shared, governed Enterprise data platform. The session will also explain how Lakebase was introduced to support low-latency access patterns alongside analytical workloads. Finally, the talk outlines how Databricks was integrated with surrounding cloud and enterprise tooling to form a reference architecture that supports scalability, governance and reuse across the organization, and how this has strengthened easyJet's data estate as a single strategic technology platform.
