Daimler Truck & Bus built “Vehicle 360” to break down organizational silos on a global scale and create one trusted, up‑to‑date view of each vehicle. We combine configuration and production records, sales and aftersales processes, over‑the‑air updates and more than 300 GB of daily vehicle log files to maintain this view across more than 1,000,000 vehicles — each with 30,000+ parameters. On an open lakehouse architecture, Databricks Declarative Pipelines keep data fresh and organized, while Unity Catalog provides unified governance and easy sharing.
It gives teams one place to see a vehicle’s current state, drill into recent parameter changes, find vehicles with specific characteristics, orchestrate dynamic over‑the‑air updates, and diagnose issues faster. Beyond day‑one wins, this foundation also enables proactive anomaly detection, AI‑driven support and our journey to a software‑defined vehicle.
