Using AI to Migrate Semantic Models and Dashboards to Databricks Metric Views and AI/BI

At HP, we are working to integrate more of our business intelligence and analytics directly into the Databricks platform. To minimize impacts on analytics teams and their partners across organizations, we needed a way to automate and accelerate migrations of legacy semantic models and dashboards into Databricks.

We developed a scalable AI based approach to parse existing BI artifacts, translate semantic models into Metric Views, convert existing visualizations into Databricks Dashboards and validate the results. This presentation shares lessons learned across multiple migrations, including both our key challenges and successes.
