Yicong Huang is a Software Engineer at Databricks, where he works on the Apache Spark team with a focus on Spark, Spark Connect, and PySpark. He also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at UMass Amherst. His research focuses on big data management, data-processing systems, and AI/ML systems. He takes a systems-driven approach to building modern data-intensive pipelines, including workflow engines, UDF debugging frameworks, pipelining optimizers, and machine learning acceleration systems for streaming data. His work has been published in leading database venues, including SIGMOD, VLDB, and ICDE, as well as interdisciplinary venues such as TOCHI, PNAS Nexus, JAMIA, AMIA, and PLOS ONE.
