Česká Spořitelna: Unifying Oracle, Cloudera and Snowflake Workloads to a Single Platform

Česká Spořitelna recently selected Databricks as their unified cloud data platform. After long-running PoCs and the evaluation of some of Databricks latest features—SQL functions, multi-statement transactions, exclusive groups, and others—Česká decided to pivot from Snowflake to Databricks, unifying their existing platforms and aligning with the strategy of the Erste Group. This includes the migration of an Oracle DWH, Cloudera and existing Snowflake environments to a unified data platform for all their AI, ML & data science, DWH, and data engineering use cases, cutting massive integration costs necessary to integrate all the legacy platforms.The Ceska’s Head of Data Platforms Engineering, together with the Databricks Lead Specialist Solutions Architect who supported the evaluation, will present the customer journey and why this decision is strategic and aligned with their broader enterprise data strategy.
