Hawkins

Peter Hawkins, PhD, is a Specialist Solutions Architect at Databricks, focusing on applying machine learning at scale to accelerate drug discovery in the life sciences. He began his academic career researching ultrafast quantum optics before becoming deeply interested in machine learning and its application to biology. He spent four years as a Principal Scientist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, where he led a small research team focussing on machine learning models for immune receptors. He earned his MSci (2012) and PhD (2016) from Imperial College London, performed postdoctoral research at the University of Marburg and led an ML research group at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals before joining Databricks in 2024.
