Modernizing Data Governance at First Thai Bank to Prepare for an AI-First Future

Founded in 1907, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) is the first Thai bank. In September 2021, SCB embarked on a landmark transformation, restructuring into a holding company model under SCBX. This strategic shift has since driven the group's expansion to 13 core subsidiaries today, significantly increasing the complexity of managing data governance, data security, and data quality across the group.

Today, SCB runs its enterprise data platform on Databricks. In this session, we will highlight how SCB leverages Databricks and Unity Catalog to scale enterprise‑wide data governance and data quality. We will also demonstrate "Chat with your Metadata", leveraging Genie for enterprise-wide metadata discovery on the platform.
