Pramod Sadalage

Pramod Sadalage is a Distinguished Engineer at Thoughtworks, where he leads the Data Architecture and Data Engineering service for North America. He works at the intersection of data architecture, software architecture, and application development, helping organizations solve complex data challenges with pragmatic, evolutionary approaches. Pramod is known for bridging the gap between database professionals and application developers. In the early 2000s, he helped develop techniques for evolutionary database design, using version-controlled schema migrations to let relational databases evolve safely alongside application code. He is the co-author of Data Architecture: A Software Architect's Guide to Building Data-Driven Systems, Software Architecture: The Hard Parts, Building Evolutionary Architectures, Refactoring Databases: Evolutionary Database Design, and NoSQL Distilled. He is also the author of Recipes for Continuous Database Integration. Pramod continues to speak, write, and advise on modern data architecture, evolutionary design, database delivery, and lessons learned through hands-on client work.
