To help organizations meet growing demands around data security and compliance, we’re excited to introduce a new platform tier, the  Enterprise tier for Databricks on Google Cloud, launching June 2, 2025.

This new offering brings advanced security and governance capabilities such as Serverless Egress Control and the Enhanced Security and Compliance Add-on to Google Cloud customers who require the highest levels of control and protection for their data and AI workloads. Going forward, capabilities such as private connectivity with Private Service Connect and data encryption with Customer-Managed Keys will only be available as part of the Enterprise tier. 

What’s New in the Enterprise Tier for Google Cloud

The Enterprise tier for Google Cloud provides customers advanced enterprise security controls. As part of this launch:

  • Enhanced Security and Compliance Add-on, currently in Public Preview, introduces a more comprehensive security foundation, including enhanced security monitoring and support for additional compliance frameworks.
  • Serverless Egress Control, currently in Private Preview,  is a new capability available in  the Enterprise tier, that enables you to centrally control outbound access from your serverless environment across multiple Databricks products and workspaces. .
  • Private Service Connect and Customer-Managed Keys (CMK) will now be exclusive to the Enterprise tier for new customers beginning June 2.

These updates are designed to simplify and elevate the security posture for organizations with stringent regulatory and operational requirements.

Databricks on Google Cloud brings together the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform with the performance and scale of Google Cloud. Customers benefit from:

  • A fully serverless experience across SQL, Notebooks, Workflows, and DLT pipelines
  • Integration with Google Cloud AI tools like Gemini and Vertex AI
  • High price-performance compute with support for Axion-based C4A VMs
  • Open, governed access through Unity Catalog and support for BigQuery federation

The Enterprise tier strengthens Databricks’ offering for Google Cloud users especially those in regulated industries and large-scale enterprises by providing more control, advanced security, and enhanced compliance to build, scale, and govern their data and AI systems. To help accelerate adoption, Google Cloud customers can access the Enterprise tier at promotional pricing, equal to Premium tier pricing, until June 1, 2026. This limited-time offer provides an easy on-ramp to enhanced capabilities while managing cost during onboarding and growth.
