Summary

  • Databricks AI Agent training addresses a critical gap—while 72% of workers use AI, only 13% have integrated agents into workflows
  • Two new Databricks trainings are available: AI Agent Fundamentals and Get Started with AI Agents

At Databricks, we’ve helped thousands of customers master generative AI. Now, we're launching two new courses to help you and your teams take the critical next step—building AI agents.

Most organizations are experimenting with AI, but few are implementing AI agents. According to BCG’s latest "AI at Work" report, while 72% of the workforce now uses AI, only 13% have adopted AI agents in their daily workflows.

Yet for those who have made the leap, the results are compelling. Over 66% report significant productivity gains from agents that generate code and SQL queries, automate data quality monitoring, and synthesize insights from multiple data sources.

Our new courses close this gap, taking you from understanding AI agents to building them on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.

The Growing Demand for AI Agent Skills

AI agents are transforming how organizations operate. Unlike traditional AI systems that simply respond to prompts, agents independently plan, execute, and adapt across complex workflows. As a result, organizations are seeing AI agents boost operational efficiency by cutting up to 40% of the time spent on repetitive manual tasks.

This transformation is driving urgent action. According to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs report, 77% of businesses are now prioritizing workforce reskilling for AI agent development. They understand that mastering AI agents today will be crucial for leading the AI transformation of tomorrow.

However, for data practitioners and their teams who are tasked with building these agents, this organizational mandate becomes a real challenge. The buzz around AI agents quickly turns into a list of tough questions:

  • Which framework should you actually use?
  • How do you stop it from hallucinating in production?
  • How do you prove to leadership that it’s actually working?

These aren't just hypotheticals—they're the blockers standing between your prototype and a successful launch.

Build practical AI agent skills

At Databricks, we see these challenges firsthand every day across the thousands of organizations using our platform. Our new courses address this need by providing structured, practical training on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. Here are previews of the two new courses:

AI Agent Fundamentals (90 minutes)

This introductory course is ideal for newcomers and team alignment on core concepts, architectures, use cases, and data strategy integration. Learn how to:

  • Define AI agents and distinguish them from traditional AI systems
  • Identify real-world agent applications across industries
  • Understand core components: LLMs, tools, memory, and workflows
  • Explore agent architectures and when to apply them

Get Started with AI Agents (Hands-On, 3 hours)

Ready to stop reading and start building? In just over two hours, we’ll guide you from theory to a deployed agent. You will:

  • Build your first agent using our powerful Mosaic AI Agent Framework (no prior agent experience needed).
  • Learn to trust your agent by implementing systematic evaluation and testing.
  • Ship with confidence using MLflow to version and manage your agent in production.
  • Create a powerful knowledge assistant from scratch using Agent Bricks.
  • Master the full lifecycle by monitoring and improving your agent's performance over time.

This training will introduce you to Agent Bricks, our latest innovation designed to automate the development of production-grade AI. You’ll see firsthand how to go from a simple task description to a fully optimized agent. Learners will build a knowledge assistant that searches Unity Catalog and synthesizes information, while Agent Bricks works in the background, automatically handling the complex evaluation, tuning, and optimization for both quality and cost.

Upon completion of either course, practitioners can earn a Databricks badge to share on LinkedIn, validating their newfound AI agent skills.

Transform Your Skills

The demand for AI agent expertise is accelerating. Our new courses, AI Agent Fundamentals and Get Started with AI Agents, provide a direct path to mastering the skills needed to build and deploy them.
