LONDON, UK – August 6, 2018 – Databricks, the leader in unified analytics and founded by the original creators of Apache Spark™, today announced that the company has secured a position with the G-Cloud 10 procurement framework. G-Cloud allows UK public sector organisations to purchase cloud-based IT and services faster and more efficiently. Databricks is listed on two framework agreements as part of G-Cloud 10 – Cloud hosting and Cloud software.

Databricks provides a platform to support companies and public sector organisations that want to implement artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics at scale. Using Databricks’ Unified Analytics Platform, organisations can improve how they manage huge volumes of data, run large scale analytics, and implement AI for a range of business processes across local government, healthcare, central government and defence use cases.

“There’s huge interest in AI across the UK public sector, but there are many challenges that exist in turning this interest into practical deployments that will make a difference to the public. Databricks’ Unified Analytics Platform provides a simple way to bring together all the teams involved in delivering services based on data and deliver the infrastructure, analytics and insight that organisations want today. We’re pleased to be part of G-Cloud 10 and make this technology easily accessible to more public sector organisations in the UK,” commented David Wyatt, vice president of EMEA at Databricks.

Databricks’ Unified Analytics Platform can operate on Amazon Web Services and is offered as a first party service on Microsoft Azure as Azure Databricks.

Databricks has also developed a specific offering for healthcare and life sciences organizations which helps turn clinical and big data into insights to improve patient lives. The Unified Analytics Platform for Genomics enables organisations to process and analyse large-scale genomics data up to 100 times faster than current solutions, accelerating critical research and delivery of personalised care services.
