Databricks Strengthens Commitment in Japan, Appointing Toshifumi Sasa as Country Manager

Former Salesforce executive joins Databricks’ Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) leadership team to drive further adoption of the lakehouse platform in the region

Tokyo, 12 January 2023 - Databricks, the lakehouse company, today announced the appointment of Toshifumi Sasa as the Country Manager for Japan, one of the company’s key markets in the APJ region.

A tech industry veteran, Sasa-san brings more than 20 years of enterprise technology and leadership experience to the role and will be responsible for leading the local teams and driving lakehouse adoption for Japanese businesses across industries.

Prior to joining Databricks, Sasa-san spent over 10 years at Salesforce which includes his most recent role as the SVP and GM of the Digital Marketing business unit. He has also held leadership positions at technology firms including Infor Japan, SAP Ariba and J.D. Edwards.
