Toyota Adopts Databricks to Power its Unified Data and AI Platform, “vista”
January 8, 2026

The Databricks Data Intelligence Platform will democratize data and deliver AI-ready data for a wide range of applications at Toyota
Tokyo, Japan, January 8, 2026 – Databricks, the Data and AI company, today announced that Toyota Motor Corporation (“Toyota”) has adopted the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to power vista, its new unified data and AI hub. Vista integrates all of Toyota’s data sources, enabling teams to build and operate AI and machine learning models more efficiently.
Launched in 2021, Toyota’s Data Library Project was designed to ensure that people who need data can access it when they need it – removing information silos and promoting company-wide data use. However, infrastructure and operational constraints made it difficult to deliver data quickly to users. To address this challenge, Toyota selected Databricks as the foundation for vista to provide users with a single, integrated platform that unifies corporate, connected and customer data. The result is a secure, high‑quality data environment that empowers employees across Toyota to access and use data independently, supported by strong governance and quality controls.
Vista leverages Unity Catalog, Databricks’ unified and open data governance solution to achieve centralized, zero-copy data management with consistent metadata and permission controls. This simplifies data sharing, model deployment and the creation of reusable business templates at Toyota, transforming how teams collaborate and make data-driven decisions.
Vista serves as a foundation for AI-ready data infrastructure. Toyota is already developing use cases using Genie, which enables interactive analysis using natural language, and Databricks Apps. Future plans include adopting Agent Bricks, Databricks’ flagship agentic AI product, which makes it easy for organizations to build and scale high-quality agents on their data. By using AI agents integrated with vista's AI-ready data, Toyota aims to accelerate business transformation and innovation.
“Toyota’s digital transformation is now focused on integrating data and optimizing end-to-end operations. To achieve this, we require not only high security, low cost, and scalability, but also a platform that enables company-wide AI utilization. Databricks is currently the best option to meet these requirements. We hope to develop a transactional platform that can enable real-time, bidirectional data collaboration,” said Mr. Kento Izumi, Head of Digital Transformation Promotion Office, Toyota Motor Corporation.
“We’re thrilled to support Toyota’s bold vision. By unifying AI apps, analytics, and agents on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, Toyota is democratizing data access and accelerating its digital transformation,” said Toshifumi Sasa, VP and Country Manager for Databricks Japan.
