Databricks Apps with Lakebase

Ships a Lakebase-backed Databricks App. Following the lecture-demo pattern, learners scaffold a FastAPI app, wire its service principal identity into Lakebase with least-privilege grants, implement the OAuthConnection pattern with a shared pool, and deploy end to end — reasoning about read-your-writes and synced-table freshness along the way.

The content was developed for participants with these skills/knowledge/abilities:

• Comfort with Python (FastAPI basics) and SQL grants

• Ability to connect to Lakebase and refresh OAuth tokens (from LB-203)

• Familiarity with synced tables as an app data source (from LB-302)

Suggested prior courses: LB-203 Connecting and Authentication (the OAuth pool the app relies on) and LB-302 Reverse ETL (the synced table the app reads). LB-103 for the connection basics.
