First Steps: Create, Connect, Query
The hands-on on-ramp to Lakebase. Following the lecture-demo pattern, learners create their first project (UI and SDK), generate credentials, connect with psycopg, tour the four connection surfaces, and run a full CRUD sequence. It is the practical foundation every later hands-on course assumes.
The content was developed for participants with these skills/knowledge/abilities:
• Basic SQL (CREATE, INSERT, SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE) and comfort reading Python
• Familiarity attaching Serverless compute in the Databricks workspace
• Understanding of what Lakebase is (from LB-101)
Suggested prior courses: LB-101 Introduction to Lakebase (what and why). LB-102 Architecture Deep Dive is helpful for context but not required.
