The US Government isn't just a customer—it's a strategic partner in our mission to democratize data and AI. At Databricks Federal, our top priority is crystal clear: ensure that government agencies have access to the same groundbreaking innovations that are transforming industries across the commercial sector. They shouldn't have to choose between compliance and capability, and with Databricks, they won't have to.
Over the past three years, we've been on an ambitious journey to modernize how the government works with data. We've been systematically migrating our FedRAMP and IL5 customers from our legacy platform onto our modern Commercial SaaS product, unlocking the full spectrum of features and capabilities that commercial customers already rely on. This fundamental shift enables government agencies to better utilize enterprise AI and data analytics.
But here's what makes this even more significant: it’s not just federal agencies that benefit. Hundreds of companies that support government operations—and are entrusted with sensitive government data—must also operate within FedRAMP and GovCloud-compliant environments. These mission-critical partners require the same advanced capabilities to meet their obligations and effectively serve the agencies that rely on them.
To better meet this need, government agencies and their mission-critical partners will have full access to the entire Azure Databricks Data Intelligence Platform on Azure Government in 2026. This includes Unity Catalog, Databricks SQL, and the complete suite of AI capabilities already driving transformative outcomes across our commercial and FedRAMP Moderate regions. No compromises and no delays—just the full Databricks experience, delivered with the security and compliance that government workloads demand. Today’s announcement of Azure Databricks on Azure Government is another big step in our journey to empower the U.S. public sector with secure, modern data and AI capabilities. It builds on the momentum from earlier this year, when we brought Databricks to AWS GovCloud and achieved FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 authorizations.
We’re energized by the opportunity to keep supporting these essential customers as they take on some of the nation’s most important challenges. With Databricks available on both Azure and AWS Government clouds, our customers can rely on a secure, compliant foundation that never forces a tradeoff between innovation and compliance—it delivers both, seamlessly, wherever their missions take them.
