FAQ

For SQL Classic and Pro, Databricks deploys cluster resources into your cloud provider environment, and you are responsible for paying for the corresponding compute infrastructure charges. For Serverless SQL compute, Databricks deploys the cluster resources in Databricks’ cloud provider account and you are not required to pay separately for compute infrastructure charges. Please see here for more details.

If your source data is in a different cloud region than the Databricks serverless environment, the cloud provider may charge you network egress charges. Databricks is currently waiving charges for egress from the serverless environment to your destination region, but we may charge for such egress at market-competitive rates in the future.

Yes, the promotional discounts stack on top of any contracted discounts that you may have negotiated.

On AWS, the promotional discounts are implemented through a reduction in the DBU rate that is emitted for SQL Pro and Serverless SQL warehouses during the promotional period.
