Get hands-on with our latest AI-powered features.

Pick up your invitation in the Databricks Booth at Data + AI Summit, then follow the instructions below.

Happy test-driving! Remember this demo won't include everything you get in Databricks.

Easily compare DBRX, Llama 3, Mixtral and other language models

Chat with multiple models simultaneously and compare results. Adjust model parameters and see your responses change.

This experience will only work if you selected North America when setting up your Test Drives environment. Please visit the Databricks Booth if you need another invitation code.

  1. Click Playground in the sidebar to open the AI Playground. This is a chat-like environment where you can test, prompt and compare LLMs.
  2. Start interacting with DBRX by choosing a sample AI instruction such as sentiment analysis, unstructured text parsing or summarization.
  3. Continue exploring by typing in your question or prompt.

Explore how AI accelerates Dashboard creation

Scale access to data with AI-powered dashboards built with either a drag-and-drop UI or natural language.

  1. Log in to the Databricks workspace.
  2. Click Dashboards in the workspace sidebar, then click View samples gallery to be redirected to the samples gallery.
  3. Click Import on the NYC Taxi Dashboard to import the sample dashboard and start building more charts.
  4. Use the Add a Visualization widget from the selector at the bottom and place the cursor on an empty space on the dashboard.
  5. Use the Ask the Assistant prompt at the top of the visualization to create your first chart using AI. Click one of the auto-generated prompts to get started. Here are some additional prompts:
    • Visualize average trip distance by day of week
    • What is the trend of fare amount and hourly pickup time?
  6. Click Accept to save the AI-generated chart or use the widget on the right to regenerate the chart. Use the button on the upper-right of each chart to provide a different prompt to update the chart.
  7. When you’re done adding charts to this dashboard, click Publish in the upper-right corner to create a clean copy of the current dashboard.
  8. Click Publish. Your dashboard is now ready to be shared with other team members.

Converse with your data using natural language

Do ad hoc analysis using AI that understands the full context of your unique organization.

  1. Click Marketplace in the lower-left corner. Databricks Marketplace is an open marketplace for all your data, analytics and AI.
  2. Type Enterprise Software Sales Dataset in the search box and open the listing provided by Databricks. This is a synthetic dataset containing the CRM data for an imagined software company which will be used for exploration in the Genie Space. A Genie Space is a no-code interface powered by DatabricksIQ where business users can interact with the Databricks Assistant to analyze data using natural language.
  3. Click Get Instant Access in the upper-right corner and accept the terms and conditions to install the dataset in a shared catalog.
  4. Click Open in the upper-right corner to explore the dataset in the Catalog Explorer. You will be redirected to the dataset's first asset, the accounts table.
  5. Use the Create button on the right side to create a Genie Space.
  6. Start creating a new Space by giving it a title and description. Click Save to finish creating the Space.
  7. Click the Explain the Dataset prompt to get an overview of the dataset. Here are some additional prompts to explore the dataset:
    • How many accounts are there?
    • Probe further by asking:
      • Can you tell me the region-wise split of total accounts?
      • Can you tell me how many energy sector accounts there are? This will return 0 rows because the Space assistant does not know the definition of energy sector accounts.
  8. In order to fix this, navigate to instructions on the left side and add the following instruction in the box on the top: account is energy sector if industry = 'Oil & Gas Production' or industry = 'Natural Gas Distribution'
  9. Click Save to register the instruction. The Space assistant is now aware of the definition of an ENERGY SECTOR account and can respond to questions more effectively.
  10. Continue asking questions:
    • Can you tell me how many energy sector accounts there are?
    • Can you compare the region-wise split of all accounts and energy sector accounts?
  11. Click Auto-visualize to generate charts from the insights or choose from a list of chart types.
