As the Databricks Mountain View office Receptionist, your job is to ensure that everyone who walks through the Databricks door feels at home. You are the face and first impression of Databricks as a company. You will maintain an office environment so that guests and employees alike have a positive experience. You will see many parts of the business and be closely involved in the daily operations of the Databricks office and culture. We are currently growing at a rapid pace, and you will be the glue that holds everything together as we continue to revolutionize big data. We’re looking for someone with a positive, outgoing attitude, a knack for stellar first impressions, and a passion for creating a fun, social, and engaged office environment.

  • Maintains office and lobby with respect to cleanliness, culture, and overall attitude, when it comes to interacting with everyone who enters the doors, providing excellent customer service
  • Adequately prioritizes and completes administrative tasks and assignments while still focusing on greeting guests
  • Is the face and gatekeeper for Databricks. Represents the company, and sets the mood and tone for everyone coming in and out of the office

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the lobby is always presentable and professional
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service from the front desk, ensuring guests and employees have a positive experience when visiting the office. Support employees and visitors in the office with ad hoc questions, providing help, and assistance when needed
  • Respond and resolve service tickets via ticketing system within set service level agreement (SLA)
  • Plan and assist with internal events, such as training/hack days and happy hours
  • Oversee front-of-house activities such as visitor and badge management, food and beverage deliveries, shipping  and deliveries, and office supply management
  • Build relationships with your partners (EAs and team leaders), partner teams (HR, IT, Finance, and property management), and external vendor services
  • Work on special projects as a part of the global REW team

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of front of front-of-house experience with responsibility for operations and service delivery
  • A strong passion for creating the ultimate Databricks experience
  • Good communication skills and the ability to draft office communications
  • Proven organizational skills, managing multiple work streams and projects
  • Customer focused attitude - ensuring consistently high-quality resolutions
  • Ability to adapt to changes and remain calm in chaotic and ambiguous situations
  • Proficiency with Google Apps or MS Office, with the ability to quickly pick up different tools and applications
  • Financial and budget experience, including sourcing/procuring goods or services and following procurement best practices

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
