As a Senior Public Relations Manager, you’ll help shape the voice of one of the fastest-growing private technology companies — at the forefront of data + AI. You’ll amplify our story, drive high-impact narratives, and put Databricks at the center of conversations that matter today. 

In this role, you’ll partner directly with the Senior Director of Global Communications to lead PR programs that elevate our brand, showcase our innovations, and position Databricks as the trusted leader in data and AI. You’ll leverage your expertise to manage impactful programs and work with a dynamic, cross-functional team. And you’ll lead our partner, customer, and industry PR programs while supporting our executive communications. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for a strategic storyteller who thrives in fast-moving environments.

The impact you will have:

  • Setting communications strategy: Set the direction for Databricks’ communications programs, aligning them with our business goals, product roadmaps, and company thought leadership. Ensure our approach effectively conveys our mission, values, and innovations to a global audience. For this role, you will be leading our customer, partner, and industry PR (i.e. Marketing, Public Sector, Financial Services, Cyber Security) and we are looking for core expertise in these areas. 
  • Generating high-quality media coverage: Drive meaningful business outcomes by securing high-quality PR coverage in top-tier media outlets, enhancing our brand recognition and credibility in the industry.
  • Driving cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, product, corporate, and executive teams to develop compelling messaging for product launches, corporate announcements (including partnerships, investments and acquisitions), and other strategic initiatives, ensuring consistency across all communications channels.
  • Creating high-quality content: Oversee the creation of engaging and informative content, including press releases, blog posts, op-eds, data reports, and more, that resonates with our target audiences and supports our thought leadership position.
  • Supporting executive communications: Partner with executives on our leadership and founding team to drive content and materials for their external events. 
  • Leading global agency relationships: Effectively manage relationships with PR agencies across the globe, specifically in Latin America and South America, ensuring they are aligned with our strategic goals and deliver high-impact results that amplify our key messages.
  • Managing crisis communications: Lead our crisis communication efforts, swiftly and effectively managing any issues that may arise, protecting and enhancing Databricks’ brand and reputation in the market.
  • Owning measurement and analysis: Be responsible for measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies, using data to continuously refine and improve our PR

What we look for:

  • 8+ years of communications experience in an enterprise software or growth-stage technology company
  • Experience working with data and AI companies and technologies; experience leading customer, partner, and industry PR
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling stories that resonate with diverse audiences
  • Leadership and project management skills, with experience managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
  • Collaborative, team player, with a proven track record of partnering cross-functionally with product, corporate development, customer/parnter marketing, legal, and executives
  • Deep understanding of the media landscape, with established relationships with key journalists, editors and producers
  • Experience with crisis communications and reputation management
  • Creative, strategic thinker with a passion for technology and innovation
  • Analytical with experience setting and tracking communications metrics and KPIs
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
