Instructor-led Training FAQ

Databricks instructor-led training is available to everyone, for a fee.

For public training, the schedule is preset and people from many organizations will be in attendance. It is ideal if your company has only a couple of attendees who are interested in enrolling in the class.

Private training is available for groups (for example, within an organization) who want a more personalized training experience and control over the schedule and delivery of the course. We do not create new custom training content for public or private classes, but for private deliveries, we can do a custom combination of existing courseware.

For private training classes, we are open to traveling onsite, subject to COVID-19 policies. All public training courses are delivered virtually.

Unfortunately, we do not permit the recording of any of our instructor-led training classes, whether for internal purposes or on behalf of our customers.

Our prohibition on recordings helps protect the privacy of our instructors and students taking our courses. We have also found that recording the training session can result in less effective teaching experiences as students are less likely to ask candid questions and are less willing to engage with course material.

If you would like to access recorded training materials, many of our training materials are pre-recorded and available as free self-paced content if you login to Databricks Academy.

If your company has purchased success credits or has a learning subscription, please fill out the public training requests form.

To limit class disruption, we do not permit students to mix and match attendance of classes.

Yes, you will be able to export the course material and import them into your own Databricks workspace for reference later. If you do not have your own Databricks workspace, you can sign up for a free Databricks Community Edition account (note: not all features are enabled on Community Edition).

Yes, you will receive a certificate of completion. However, to receive a badge, you will need to take and pass a proctored certification assessment.

Yes! You can see which upcoming public classes are offered in other languages (will indicate language if non-English). You can also request this for a private delivery, and we will see if we have the resources to accommodate.

NOTE: Our curriculum is available in English and Japanese. For all other languages, the instructor will teach in that requested language (subject to availability) but the courseware (notebooks and slides) is still in English.

Please submit a Private Training Request. Databricks generally responds to scheduling requests within five (5) business days. If we can support your requested date(s), Databricks will confirm by email and tentatively “lock” the requested training delivery date(s). We will then promptly follow-up with our final confirmation once we have affirmed Instructor availability (a “Committed Session”). Otherwise, we will work with you to agree on alternative date(s) for the Committed Session. If for some reason our instructors become unavailable for a Committed Session, we will promptly notify Customer via email and credit back the related fees paid or Success Credits redeemed for use towards other future Private Class sessions scheduled during the Expiration Period specified in your Order Form.

Public classes:

• Databricks will confirm to run or cancel a public class 14 days prior to the start date of class. Up to 14 days prior to class, the Learner reserves the right to cancel their registration with a full refund or reschedule to a later date. If there are less than 14 days prior to the start of class, a cancellation is not permitted but you can send a substitute in your place. Please submit your request here. All requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
• No refunds or transfers if attendees do not cancel or do not attend the class. With our Learning Management System, if you unenroll from a session, you are still registered for the course. To receive a refund, you will need to unenroll from the course as well.
• Databricks reserves the right to cancel or change a public class at any time, including but not limited to, lack of participation, classroom or instructor availability. If a class is canceled, Learners will be notified by email. The Learner will be given a choice of a refund or class transfer. The Learner will be automatically transferred to the next class if no response is received within two (2) business days of the notification.

Private classes:

• If canceled more than 14 days before scheduled start date: Customer may reschedule (once) without penalty so long as the rescheduled Class falls within the Expiration Period indicated in its Order form. Any further rescheduling of such class requires 30 days prior notice, and also must be scheduled to occur on date(s) within the Expiration Period
• If canceled 14 days or less before the scheduled start date: Customer relinquishes fees paid/Success Credits redeemed. However if Customer reschedules that canceled Private Class for delivery within its Expiration Period, Customer may apply 50% of the fees paid or Success Credits redeemed towards the rescheduled Class.
