When you use the Platform Services or certain Sites, we use standard automated data collection tools such as Cookies, Web Beacons, and other anonymous identifiers for the purposes described below.
“Cookies” are small text files that are placed on your hard drive by a web server when you access our Sites. Cookies may either be first party cookies (placed by us) or third party cookies (placed by third parties), and there are a few different types (described in the table below).
“Web beacons” (also known as web bugs, pixel tags or clear GIFs) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier that may be included on our Sites for several purposes, including to deliver or communicate with cookies, to track and measure the performance of our Sites and to monitor how many visitors view our Sites. Unlike cookies, which are stored on the user’s hard drive, web beacons are typically embedded invisibly on web pages (or in an e-mail).
What kind of cookies do you use and what do they do?
The following is a non-exhaustive but representative list of the cookies we may use:
|Strictly Necessary Cookies||These cookies are required for certain functionality of our Platform Services and Sites, and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services and to use some of its features.|
|Performance Cookies||These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources, so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited our site.|
|Functional Cookies||These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.|
|Targeting Cookies||Targeting cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They can be used by these third parties to build a profile of your interests based on the browsing information they collect from you, which includes uniquely identifying your browser and terminal equipment. If you do not allow these cookies you will still see basic advertising on your browser that is generic and not based on your interests|
What other anonymous identifiers do you use and what do they do?
What control do I have over tracking and cookies?
When you visit our Sites, depending on where you are located, we may show you a notice which tells you how and why we use certain cookies and provide you the ability to opt out of certain cookie use (other than technical cookies necessary to provide our Sites and Platform Services). If you continue to use the Sites after you are presented this notice, you consent to this use.
Although most browsers automatically accept cookies, you can change your browser options to stop automatically accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting cookies. Please note, however, that if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to access all portions or features of the Platform Services and Sites.
You can prevent Google’s collection and use of the Google Analytics Data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
